The Nanomaterials and Thin Films Facility is accessible to all qualified researchers at UNL, other universities, industries, and other laboratories on payment of the appropriate charges. All users are required to take all appropriate safety training from University Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). Also, users must obtain appropriate training and instruction from the facility specialist specific to each instrument. To complete training, users must demonstrate sufficient proficiency before and during equipment usage.
University and NCMN policy requires users to acknowledge the NCMN in their publications. An example of such an acknowledgment is: “This work was performed in part in Facilities of the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience, which the Nebraska Research Initiative supports.”
Most instruments require a reservation before use. In the unlikely event that more than one researcher simultaneously needs equipment, members of the UNL community receive priority.
